1st Workshop of Initiation on Quantum Computing
We are proud to have successfully launched the very first Workshop of Initiation on Quantum Computing, organized and presented by Jhonathan Rosa de Souza (IQTC-UB) and Alejandro Jaramillo (CSUC) and our team at the Institut de Química Teòrica i Computacional (UB), with the support of the Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC). The event took place at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Universitat de Barcelona and marked a new milestone in bringing quantum technologies closer to the academic community.
This workshop is part of IQTC’s mission to spread knowledge and inspire the next generation of researchers in the exciting field of quantum computation. During the sessions, PhD students immersed themselves in a hands-on learning journey where they:
🔹 Discovered the foundations of Quantum Information Theory
🔹 Worked through practical Python exercises with the Qibo package
🔹 Designed, operated, and simulated their own quantum circuits
🔹 Gained insight into the inner workings of real quantum computers
This is just the beginning our initiative aims to continue building bridges between cutting-edge science and future talent.
