IQTC participates in MASIAS, a new AI research project funded by Red.es
The IQTC will participate as a collaborating partner in the MASIAS project, led by the technology company DoItNow Group and recently awarded funding under the 2025 Call for R&D Grants in Artificial Intelligence and Dual Technologies from Red.es, financed through Next Generation EU funds. This national initiative, endowed with €130 million, supports experimental development projects in AI, high-performance computing, cybersecurity, robotics, and related technologies, with the aim of accelerating the integration of these fields into Spain’s productive sector.
The collaboration between the IQTC and DoItNow Group was formalised in late 2025 through a cooperation agreement signed by the institute’s director, Prof. Eliseo Ruiz Sabín. The approval of MASIAS marks the success of the joint effort made during the proposal preparation phase and opens an active collaboration period in the months ahead.
DoItNow Group is a company specialised in high-performance computing (HPC) solutions, with experience in large-scale quantum computing projects at the European level.
The IQTC will contribute its expertise in advanced computational methods and molecular simulation, exploring synergies between theoretical and computational chemistry and the development of AI-driven solutions. This collaboration represents an opportunity to strengthen the bridge between fundamental research and applied technological innovation — in line with the institute’s commitment to high-impact science.
