Open Postdoc position: Radical-Metal Magnetic Exchange in Molecular Materials

The Electronic Structure group at Universitat de Barcelona is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher to work in the fields of molecular magnetism and molecular electronics.

Main Tasks

The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for the synthesis, crystallization and characterization of coordination compounds with appealing magnetic and electronic properties. The magnetic characterization will be performed with a SQUID magnetometer and a pulsed EPR, while single molecule electronic properties will be evaluated by means of a STM. 


  • Education: Internationally recognized PhD degree in Chemistry.
  • Experience in inorganic and organic synthesis, as well as, air-sensitive chemistry.
  • Experience in molecular magnetism, EPR electrochemistry and/or molecular electronics is a bonus.


Strong commitment, excellent communication skills, team working, and level of English.


  • Full time contract funded by the Spanish project, CNS2023-144561 (Tailoring Radical-Metal Magnetic Exchange in Molecular Materials for Digital Technologies).
  • Duration 12 months, extendable. 
  • Starting date negotiable (late 2024).
