Postdoctoral Researcher
Rafael Rivas-Santisteban holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Córdoba and an MSc in Biomedicine and Molecular Biology from the Complutense University of Madrid. In 2021, he earned his PhD cum laude in Biomedicine at the University of Barcelona (UB) under the supervision of Prof. Rafael Franco and Prof. Gemma Navarro, focusing on the functional characterization of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their heteromeric complexes in neurodegenerative diseases.Supported by competitive fellowships, including the Juan de la Cierva, his postdoctoral work pioneers the implementation of the cutting-edge MolBoolean technology. Currently part of the Molecular Neurobiology Group (NBM) at UB, his research explores novel neuropharmacological targets for Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases.
