He is currently a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the University of Barcelona. He studied chemical engineering in Colombia at UPB (2002-2007) and made his PhD at the Technical University of Denmark (2007-2011) supervised by Jens K. Nørskov and Jan Rossmeisl. After that, he had a postdoctoral stage at Leiden University (2011-2013) at Marc Koper’s group, and another two-year postdoctoral stage at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (2013-2015) at Philippe Sautet’s group. After that, He returned to Leiden University (2015-2017) as a Principal Investigator with a grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). His research focuses on the structure-sensitive computational simulation of electrocatalytic reactions such as: oxygen reduction and evolution, hydrogen evolution, CO2 and CO reduction, CO oxidation and nitrate and NO reduction.
