He is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Computational Electrocatalysis group. He studied physics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, which he finished with the degree of “Diplomphysiker” (MSc equivalent). Following this, he joined the Leiden University as a PhD student, where he worked under the supervision of Mark Koper and Ludo Juurlink. Following his graduation he joined the Electrochemical Energy Lab (EEL) of Yang Shao-Horn at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2017. After this time he joined the group of Jens Nørskov and Frank Abild-Pedersen at Stanford University on the Wallenberg-Bridge grant from the university of Stockholm, Anders Nilsson, and Lars Pettersson from 2017 to 2019. In 2020 he joined the University of Barcelona as a Postdoctoral Researcher working on modelling the CO2 reduction reaction.
His research focuses on modelling electrochemical reaction pathways for the oxygen evolution reaction, the CO2 reduction reaction, as well as complex water interfaces using density functional theory, kinetic models and machine learning techniques.
