Ramon Reigada received his Ph.D. in 1997 under the supervision of Dr. Francesc Sagués in the Physical Chemistry Department of the University of Barcelona and focusing on modelization and simulation of reaction-diffusion systems. From 1998 to 2000, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California San Diego (USA) with Prof. Katja Lindenberg, working in a diversity of modelization schemes to describe the behavior of non-linear systems. In 2001, he returned to UB with an Assistant Professor contract and in 2002 he received a “Ramón y Cajal” grant finished at 2005. During this period his research was focused on the modelization and simulation of nonequilibrium phenomena in soft-matter systems like Langmuir monolayers. He has been Associate Professor (Professor Agregat) at the Department of Materials Science and Physical Chemistry of UB starting at 2006 and his current research interest is the modelization and simulation (molecular dynamics) of spatio-temporal processes taking place in lipid bilayer systems mimicking the behavior of cell (biological membranes). As a result of his research activities, he has an h index of 23 and has published more than 75 articles in peer-reviewed international journals.
