Ibério de P. R. Moreira (1972) received his PhD in Chemistry in 2001 from the University of Barcelona. His doctorate studies, under supervision of Prof. F. Illas, focused in the development of models to describe the electronic structure and magnetic coupling in strongly correlated magnetic solids. In 2001 he joined the CRYSTAL group at the Dipartimento di Chimica IFM of the Universitá Degli Studi di Torino as a post-doctoral researcher ( “Marie Curie” Individual Fellowship). During this time he investigated the electronic structure of undoped cuprates, manganites and other low dimensional magnetic systems under the supervision of Prof. R. Dovesi. He also collaborated in the development of some parts of the CRYSTAL code related to the calculation of phonon frequencies. In 2003 he came back to the Universitat de Barcelona with a “Ramon y Cajal” fellowship to develop a project on modelling doping in cuprates and manganites and effective t-J and extended magnetic hamiltonians (including 2 and 4 body terms) for cuprates. In these studies he had a close collaboration with Prof. J.-P. Malrieu of the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, initiated during the PhD and maintained for years. In 2008 he became associate professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry of the Universitat de Barcelona and from then his research interests focused on magnetism of mixed valence solids, organometallic molecular complexes and chemical reactivity of organic and organometallic compounds. His present research activity focus on the study of electronic structure and properties of organic magnetic systems (biradicals, graphene analogs as 2D-polyradicals, organic molecular materials) and reactivity of organometallic compounds.
