Voccia, Maria

Postdoctoral Researcher

Maria Voccia obtained a M.Sc. in Chemistry in 2018 followed by a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry (2022/2023) in Computational and Homogeneous Catalysis group under the supervision of the Prof. Lucia Caporaso and Dr. Laura Falivene at the University of Salerno. The PhD dealt with the mechanistic studies of new catalysts for polymerization of ethylene and copolymerization of ethylene with carbon monoxide, in tight collaboration with the experimental group of Prof. Stefan Mecking. In the same period, she moved to the CRF in Turin to extend her previous mechanistic studies to the heterogeneous catalysis, working on the Eco2Fuel European project with the aim to understand the reactivity of some materials toward the formation of chemicals and fuels. Recently, she moved to the IQCT of Barcelona which will allow her to continue her research in heterogeneous catalysis as a PostDoc in the group led by Prof Francesc Illas Riera and Prof. Francesc Viñes Solana, working on the “Atom-Dispersed Catalysts for the Thermo-Photo Valorization of CO2: Experimental Design and Computational Modeling” project.”
