Pascual Borràs, Magda
Lecturer
Catalysis, energy and environment
Dr Pascual-Borràs obtained her PhD under the supervision of Prof Josep M. Poblet (Quantum Chemistry Group, Rovira i Virgili University, Spain). She was subsequently awarded a Kempe postdoctoral fellowship (2017–2019) at Umeå University (Sweden) with Prof André Ohlin, where she investigated the synthesis, modelling, and speciation of discrete metal oxides, integrating experimental and computational approaches.
From 2019 to 2025, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Prof John Errington’s group at Newcastle University, where she established an independent research programme on mechanochemical polyoxometalate chemistry, in collaboration with Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (UK).
In October 2025, she was appointed Serra Húnter Lecturer in the Inorganic Chemistry Section at the University of Barcelona, where her research addresses global challenges in chemistry and sustainable energy through the design of molecular metal chalcogenides, integrating both experimental and computational methodologies.
