IQTC Internal Seminar 19th January
This Friday 19 of January we will have the first seminar of the second round of IQTC Internal Seminar. As always, this will take place at 12:00 in Sala d’Actes of Department of Material Sciences and Physical Chemistry. The speakers and their abstracts are:
Martín Amoza: Ab Initio Study in Low Spin Magnetic Complexes: Candidates for Qubits
Qubits are the elemental component in quantum computing providing a step forward in comparison with traditional computers. Low spin systems with long decoherence times are excellent candidates to be employed in qubit devices. Here, we present some examples of how Ab Initio calculations can help to explain the magnetic properties of such systems.
Supervisor: Eliseo Ruiz.
Hector Prats: Useful tools for computational chemistry
The main tools for any computational chemist are the supercomputers and the Unix shell. However, the background in computer science at the end of the chemistry bachelor is usually quite low, forcing students to learn computer science on their own. This talk aims to present several tools that I hope will serve the young master and PhD students in their day-to-day work.
Supervisor: Ramón Sayós.
