The Quantum Universe: Between Mystery and Reality


The University of Barcelona is hosting a new Science Café titled The Quantum Universe: Between Mystery and Realityto celebrate the International Year of Quantum Science. The event will take place on November 5, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.at the Altaïr Bookstore in Barcelona. Attendance is limited to forty people and requires prior registration through this form.

The discussion will feature Clàudia Climent BiescasJuan Carlos Paniagua, and Enric Pérez Canals, with moderation by Marga Becerra from the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I).

Quantum physics has transformed how we understand the universe — from the behavior of subatomic particles to technologies such as lasers, chips, and cryptography. This public event aims to make quantum concepts more accessible and foster an open dialogue between experts and attendees.

Organized by the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I) of the University of Barcelona, this session welcomes anyone curious about how the universe operates at the quantum level.
