Born in Pamplona (Spain) in 1972, he received the Chemistry Graduate Degree at the University of Barcelona in 1995. During the PhD, he began his research (1996) in the field of quantum mechanical simulations, applying exact and approximate methods to the study elementary triatomic reactions dynamics. The Thesis also involved methodology development, implementing the technique of absorbing potentials to reactive scattering calculations. During the post-doctoral stage (Technical University of Munich, 2000-2003), he joined the group of Prof. Uwe Manthe where we achieved the first accurate quantum-mechanical thermal rate calculation of a polyatomic reaction. In 2004, he started my research project at the Barcelona Science Park under the Ramón y Cajal Programme. In 2009 he became Associate Professor at the Material Science and Physical Chemistry Department of the UB where he has redirected his research towards de dynamics simulation of gas adsorption in nanostructures.
