Jordi Ribas received his Ph.D. in 2006 under the supervision of Professor Juan J. Novoa (Physical Chemistry Department, University of Barcelona, UB) focusing on computational studies on molecular magnetism. During his Ph.D., he also performed two research stays at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (Washington, DC), under the supervision of Dr. Mark R. Pederson. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Ruhr-Universität-Bochum (Germany) with Prof. Dominik Marx. A Humboldt Fellowship and a Beatriu de Pinós Fellowship supported part of his stay in Prof. Marx’s group. In 2010, he returned to UB with a “Ramón y Cajal” contract and since 2015, he has been Associate Professor (Professor Agregat) at the Department of Materials Science and Physical Chemistry of UB. His current research interests concern the development and application of theoretical and computational tools to study switchable molecule-based materials, multifunctional organic-radical based materials, mechanochemistry and reactivity in aqueous media for green chemistry. As a result of his research activities, he has an h index of 25 and has published more than 75 articles in peer-reviewed international journals.
